Throughout the week, BBR will be posting short capsules on some of the most intriguing prospects — from a Panthers’ perspective — at the Senior Bowl in Mobile.

Ty Sambrailo, OT, Colorado State, 6-5, 309

Sambrailo has the athleticism and an ideal build to play left tackle. He’s also versatile. He played left tackle and left guard at Colorado State, but he could start off his pro career at right tackle.

Projected Round: 2

Biggest Concern: Functional strength.

Quote to Note: “There are a lot of freak athletes playing defensive end now, so you’ve got to match that on both sides of the line. I think the game’s kind of moving from size to speed a little bit, and that’s mostly because we have to match the athleticism that’s coming off the end.” — Sambrailo, when asked about being able to play both tackle positions.

Sambrailo Clippings:

He may not be the answer for the Panthers, because his lack of strength may keep him on the bench as a rookie. If that’s the case, then they might as well draft Cedric Ogbuehi, who’s torn ACL dropped him from #23 player, down to #100, in CBASports.com’s rankings.

You can build strenth, not athleticism.
