Bucs QB Jameis Winston
RE: His rookie season
“It’s just the beginning. It’s a long process, but this offseason, we are going to come back strong. We’ve go to keep getting better. Two games won last year, six this year. We have to get better. I have to get better, and I know this team is going to get better as long as I get better, and I promise you I’m going to get better … Right now I’m focused on 2016 Buccaneers. Making a difference in that locker room. Getting the guys to have the same mentality and being successful. That’s how we are going to be successful. But it’s going to be a process. We are going to come with it. I guarantee you.”

RE: Finishing season on four-game losing streak after starting 6-6
“You wanted that momentum. We did, in the worst way. I think as you look at our foundational pieces, that’s what we have to build on. We have a lot of foundational pieces for success in place right now. After you get by the disappointment of the day and start analyzing it that way that’s why I think we have improved as a ball club and we are headed in the right direction.”
RE: Winston throwing over 4,000 yards this season
“There are a lot of things later on that we will look back on and like. Jameis as a rookie, that’s a tough duty to be able to do that. I think it’s safe to say Jameis is an outstanding player and going to have a great future and is going to lead us to a lot of wins. You have the main piece in place for years to come. That has to give you hope.”
