Panthers DE Jared Allen

"This isn’t 'Footloose.' Dancing is not banned. I’ve been on the other side of that — there’s Jimmy Graham dunking on the goal post. Guess what? You’re mad because we scored. You’re not mad because of the dance ... Cam — he’s doing the right things. He’s getting balls to kids and showing them that this game is fun and exciting. You hear it the other way when people are so stoned faced and serious. Where’s the emotion and where’s the passion? I think it’s a big to-do about nothing. I mean I’m going to celebrate a sack because it’s like our touchdown. It’s so hard to get them so of course you’re going to celebrate."

Panthers WR Ted Ginn

"Everybody dances in this league and has fun. So for us to be getting singled out for our own little celebrations is what comes when you’re 9-0 ... It’s supposed to be a competitive game. However, you can get underneath somebody’s skin. I guess with that being our dancing, our celebrations at the end of our accomplishments, it’s bothering people."

Panthers DT Kawann Short

"He's got good moves, man. He's got good moves. I feel like that mentality is what you’re going for. If you’re the one bothered, don’t let him in. That’s the confidence that he’s got right now. As a defense, we’re behind him 100 percent."

Panthers DE Mario Addison

"If a running back or a receiver or a defensive back can do it, anybody can do it. Quarterbacks should be able to do it, too. It shouldn’t be a problem."

Panthers DE Kony Ealy

"It's electrifying; that's what makes this league so fun to play in. You never know what's going to happen, you never know what you're going to do. Celebrations are just wild; it's supposed to be that way."

Panthers Head Coach Ron Rivera

"It's a little bit of a distraction in terms of being able to take a breath and not having to worry about football for a second and worry about dancing ... I think there's been a lot made out of it. Do I wish my quarterback didn't do it? No, I don't. I like his personality. Now, would I like to see it contained a little bit? Maybe not as long. But again, the game is changing and I promise you, it's going to continue to change because of what's going on, not just with the media, but with the social media."

Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden

"Anytime an opponent scores on you, it bothers you. But I'm a firm believer that if you score a touchdown in the National Football League, you should show some excitement and I don't have a problem with it whatsoever."

Redskins QB Kirk Cousins

"I know he has a lot more rhythm than I do. And that lends itself to having more freedom with your ability to celebrate. I’m kind of restricted to a only few things which include yelling, 'You like that!' If I had more rhythm, I would love to be a little more creative. But unfortunately, I don’t."

  1. I mean, you’re Cam Newton. All of the gifts of life and NFL have been dropped in your lap via the genetic lottery and well-timed opportunity. Plus you’ve got sense enough to realize it. I think I’d freaking dance.

    1. If I was 6 foot 5, 260 pounds, could run that fast, and could throw a football that well, (none of which apply to me) you better believe I would be having a ball on that field.
