Carolina Panthers Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Cam Newton May Be Too Pricey, Even Against the Saints

On FantasyDraft, Newton's $14,000 salary is second-highest among QBs, and rightfully so. He's facing the horrible New Orleans defense, and even with the hefty price tag, I wouldn't blame you for starting Newton. But compared to other QB options in Week 13, there may be better values with enticing matchups.

A couple examples: Chicago's Jay Cutler [$10,200 Salary] against the 49ers or Tennessee's Marcus Mariota [$10,900 Salary] versus the Jaguars.

Jonathan Stewart is Still a Great Value

Stewart’s salary has been increasing each week on FantasyDraft, but he's only the 18th-most expensive RB. He's had at least 20 carries in each of his past seven games and he could have a huge outing against the Saints.

Greg Olsen is Now the Most Expensive TE

With Patriots' star Rob Gronkowski sidelined with a knee injury, Olsen's risen to the top salary-wise. But $12,000 isn't that expensive compared to the price of comparable WRs. Olsen torched the Saints in Week 3, and he's a good bet to put up hefty numbers again.

Panthers' Defense

Considering their success, it's not surprising Panthers are one of the most expensive defensive options on FantasyDraft. I probably won't start them this week, but they'll likely get at least a couple sacks and a turnover or two.

Saints' Offense

We’ve avoided players on the offensive side of the ball when they've faced the Panthers this season. It's been a pretty good strategy and we're going to do it again this week.

Fantasy Sleepers Around the League

Jaguars TE Julius Thomas [FantasyDraft Salary - $7,800]

Thomas is starting to look like the dominant force he was with the Broncos. He's totaled 14 receptions and two touchdowns his past two games and he could have another big performance against the Titans.

Panthers WR Devin Funchess [FantasyDraft Salary - $7,300]

We know at least one Carolina wideout is going to have a big day against the Saints' secondary. Our best guess is Funchess will be the guy that guy.

Cardinals RB David Johnson [FantasyDraft Salary - $6,700]

Even before Chris Johnson went on IR this week, many argued David Johnson deserved more touches. He'll get them now.

Broncos RB C.J. Anderson [FantasyDraft Salary - $6,900]

Anderson and Ronnie Hillman have split time most of the year, but Anderson may have solidified himself as the top guy last week. If given enough opportunities, he can be a top-10 RB.

Bears QB Jay Cutler [FantasyDraft Salary - $10,200]

His salary is near the bottom of all starting QBs and he has a favorable matchup against the 49ers. He's a great bargain this week.
