Not going to lie, I wanted us to hire Reese over G-Man, although the reason was as simple as basing off their job titles. I remember Reese was their top “college scout”/seemed like he was more involved in the draft and G-Man was the “pro-talent scout”.. being that we were in salary cap hell, I figured the college scout would be the best target since we had no choice but to improve through the draft. Been a fan of G-Man since the hire (once getting over the initial Smitty anger, like all Panther’s fans), but what really sold me was the late round talent he has found, which was Hurney’s big weakness outside of strapping the salary cap. Tre Boston, Bene, AJ Klein, etc have been huge finds.
