Panthers’ Playoff Possibilities

Bill VothNews, Week 175 Comments

1. The Panthers will make the playoffs with a win or tie in Atlanta.

2. If either happens, the Panthers will be the NFC’s No. 4 seed.

3. They would then host the No. 5 seed in the Wild Card Round on Jan. 3 or Jan. 4.

4. There are only two teams remaining that could be the No. 5 seed: Arizona or Seattle.

5. The Panthers would play Arizona if:

  • Seattle beats St. Louis OR
  • Seattle ties St. Louis + Arizona loses to or ties San Francisco OR
  • Arizona loses to San Francisco

6. The Panthers would play Seattle if:

  • Arizona beats San Francisco + Seattle loses to or ties St. Louis OR
  • Arizona ties San Francisco + Seattles loses to St. Louis

7. The Panthers beat the Cardinals in their last regular-season meeting at Bank of America Stadium (2010), but Arizona came to Carolina and won a playoff game on Jan. 10, 2009.

8. The Panthers have lost home games to Seattle in each of the last three seasons.

9. Either way, the Panthers would face their fourth straight playoff opponent from the NFC West.

BlackBlueReview also if SEA and CAR both win division, SEA comes to CLT again next season as schedule calls for NFCW matchup at home.

  • BlackBlueReview

yshah2187 they play same finishing opponent from NFCW away next year. same finisher from NFCN is home.

BlackBlueReview ah, my bad. Thought it was other way around. Trip to SEA wouldn’t be much fun. Could end up with GB at home too. Bleh.
