NOTES
- Ideally, Funchess will be the No. 2 wideout in Week 1, but he’ll have to work his way up there.
- Remmers will start the spring at RT, but Williams should be hot on his tail throughout the summer. Martin can provide competition on the right side and back up Oher on the left.
- Thompson may not line up with the first team at the beginning of OTAs, but there’s little reason to think he won’t end up there sooner rather than later.
- There will be a bunch of other spots worth watching, including No. 2 RB, No. 2 DE, backup LBs, Coleman’s push at both safety positions, and KR.
G-man squandered 3 draft picks, and with them needed team depth. This depth chart looks thin at CB (only 3 good ones), DE (same 5 as last year, but with Ealy handed a starting job, and Addison as the top backup pass rusher, and run defender Horton, with all-purpose Alexander, if he can keep from getting suspended again), SS (just Harper and Lester, God help us, and no speed at all), and backups at OG (just Mr. Overweight Scott, draft bust/injured Silatolu and Kugbila), Chandler will likely be more of a backup OG than OT. You can add to that, most of the WR’s have more drops than a drunken juggler (Benjamin, Ginn, Hill, and Funchess).

On offense here are my viewpoints
1.There is no way Cotchery or Bersin make the team this season
2.Devin Funchess will start alongside Benjamin
3.Mike Remmers won’t start at right tackle
4.If Edmund Kugbila is 100% healthy Chris Scott will be cut
5.Amini Silatolu will start at left guard
6.Stephen Hill will emerge during training camp and will become the #3 receiver not Ted Ginn
on defense
1.Melvin White might get cut
2.Kony Ealy will have a breakthrough
3.Roman Harper will still start at strong safety
4.Robert Lester won’t make the team
5.Teddy Williams could emerge during training camp
Offense:
1. Cotchery and Bersin are the only WR’s without drop problems.
2. Probably.
3. Remmers could be cut, be the backup swing OT, start at RT, or even win the LT job at some point.
4. Kugbila could go on IR with a paper cut, I doubt they can even trust him as a backup.
5. Silatolu has missed half his games, and played poorly in the other half, he’s a draft bust, in his last year.
6. I hope your right.
Defense:
1. Amen, but they already have no good CB depth, only the top 3.
2. I hope so, he had 4 sacks last season, but very few tackles.
3. He will have to, they have no one else, but Lester at SS.
4. He was cut last year, just re-signed to the practice squad.
5. Williams is just a special teamer, but the Panthers do have a giant hole at backup CB.
You fail to realize that the only reason why Cotchery and Bersin made the team last season is because the mediocre talent they beat out Marvin Mcnutt and Tavarres King LMFAO this upcoming training camp no way either one beats out Ted Ginn,Philly Brown,Stephen Hill,Jarrett Boykin besides that on defense Carolina has 3 very good CB’s and that all you need to have an elite pass defense in the league these days
Your entirely correct about Cotchery (over-the-hill) and Bersin, they have good hands, but no speed. In fact, I was about the only one on these Panthers sites last year to point out that Crothery’s 10 TD’s in 2013 were his career best (largely a product of his QB Roethlisberger), and that he wouldn’t repeat those numbers (because he only had like 1 and 2 TD’s in the 2 previous years), while everyone else on these Panthers sites were certain that he would at least duplicate his 10 TD’s.
Unfortunately, injuries happen (Tillman has been injured the last 2 seasons), so in addition to your top 3 CB’s, a team needs at least 2 more good quality backup CB’s.
Benjamin, Funchess, Ginn, Hill, and Boykin (only 2 catches on 9 targets last year, and he’s the product of a great QB in Aaron Rodgers, and only had his one good year after Jennings left and Cobb got injured that year, and Rodgers had little else to throw too). all have poor hands.
