Carolina Panthers News and Coverage for the Digital Age

On 1-Year Anniversary of Last Regular-Season Loss, Panthers Stand Alone

Mondays stink. Mondays after holiday weekends stink that much more. So if you're a Carolina Panthers fan, you may be waking up after Thanksgiving weekend wondering if the joy you currently feel is just a strange, tryptophan-induced hangover.

Nope, it's real.

Your team will be the NFL's lone unbeaten when the calendar turns to December. Just three years ago, that was the month when victories were more moral than meaningful.

The undefeated spotlight will no longer be shared after the Patriots' loss Sunday night, which came a few minutes before Carolina's one-year anniversary. On Nov. 30, 2014, the Panthers were embarrassed in Minnesota and dropped to 3-8-1. Since then, they've rattled off 15 straight regular-season wins.

Take a minute to look at the lineup and play-by-play from that day. Then think how much things have changed in just one year. And somehow, it's happened without Kelvin Benjamin.

Carolina currently has a two-game lead atop the NFC and it could lap the field in its division. Standing alone as the league's only unbeaten will bring more outside pressure, but if you've been one of countless fans craving national attention, you've got it now.

For this week, at least, the Panthers are the most relevant team in the NFL.

    1. As Panther fans, we know that but to the rest of the world, we still have not beat anyone. But it’s fine, we will keep on not beating anyone all the way to the Superbowl.

  1. When you’re head and shoulders better than anyone else in the league…we play “not anyone” every week. hard to get a marquee win when you’re the marquee.

  2. I wouldn’t mind nor be surprised if they lose games after clinching, and start resting players. From that point anyway wins don’t really matter until the playoffs. Still though.. it’d be nice. 🙂
