Panthers’ Prospect? Central Florida WR Breshad Perriman

Throughout the week, BBR will be posting short capsules on some of the most intriguing prospects — from a Panthers’ perspective — at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Breshad Perriman, WR, Central Florida, 6-2, 212[gap size=”10px”]

Perriman is a late riser, but a strained hamstring will keep him out of drills at the combine. The son of Brett Perriman, who played 10 seasons in the NFL, Breshad piled up 50 passes for 1,044 yards and nine touchdowns for UCF in 2014. He also did this.

Projected Round: 1-3Biggest Concerns: Knocks are very similar to Kelvin Benjamin’s last year: Suspect hands and sloppy route runner.Quote to Note: “To this day, we might just go outside and throw the ball around when he has nothing to do but sit around and maybe critique any time I catch the ball. It always turns into a learning process.” – Perriman, on what it’s like growing up the son of a former NFL receiverPerriman Clippings:

  • Panthers/Truth

Only 9 1/4″ hands, and a history of drops, sounds like a poor fit. With Benjamin’s drops, the Panthers are boxed in, and must get a #2 WR with good hands.

Please don’t make me relive that damned Hail Mary catch again…..our DBs were so bad the last couple of years that a jugs machine could have caught that pass.
