Panthers’ Prospect? UCLA DE Owa Odighizuwa

Throughout the week, BBR will be posting short capsules on some of the most intriguing prospects — from a Panthers’ perspective — at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Owa Odighizuwa, DE, UCLA, 6-3, 267[gap size=”10px”]

Odighizuwa had surgery on his left hip after the 2012 season and then missed all of 2013 after undergoing surgery on his right hip. He didn’t have big sack numbers last year (6), but he’s intriguing to NFL teams that crave versatility. A physical specimen, his full name is Owamagbe Odighizuwa. The pronunciation: Oh-wah-MAH-bay Oh-DIGGY-zoo-wah. He graduated last June with a degree in philosophy.

Projected Round: 1-2Biggest Concerns: His two surgically repaired hips; needs to develop some more pass rush skills.Quote to Note: “I did an MRI earlier this week to make sure they saw what they needed to see, and they did. Everything checked out. Range of motion was good. They were real impressed with everything.” — Odighizuwa, when asked if everything checked out with team doctors during his combine medical evaluations.Odighizuwa Clippings:
