Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was not at fault for Tuesday’s two-car accident that left him hospitalized, according to a report released Wednesday morning by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The report revealed Newton told police that as he was driving on S. Church St., the second driver pulled out in front of him. When the driver of the Buick sedan was unable to avoid the accident, the collision caused Newton’s Dodge truck to roll over.

Two witnesses told police they each saw the sedan pull out in front of Newton’s truck. Neither Newton nor the other driver was listed as at fault for the accident.

According to the police report, both drivers were traveling at the posted speed limit of 35-miles-per-hour.
