- Antoine Cason started and was in for every defensive snap. Melvin White did not play a single snap for the first time since Week 2 of last season.
- Charles Johnson, who was visibly upset on the sideline after he wasn’t substituted in for a stretch during the second quarter, played his most snaps in regulation since Week 2 against the Lions.
- Colin Cole started for the injured Star Lotulelei, but Dwan Edwards was in for the most snaps he’s played this season. Also, Kawann Short played the most he ever has in his two-year career.
- NOTABLE: Former Panthers S/CB Charles Godfrey played nine snaps for the Falcons, all on special teams. He did not record a stat.

BlackBlueReview In quest for silver linings: Norman has apparently locked down a CB spot, is playing well, and is under contract in ’15.

BlackBlueReview I guess there’s some mild comfort in knowing what 1/4 of the secondary will look like next year.

BlackBlueReview Yes it is. And it’s alarming that Harper is still starting. Says a whole lot about Lester and Boston.

So, Colin Jones played 50% of the defensive snaps as a safety, but Harper and DeCoud both played 100% of defensive snaps… Were they running formations with 3 safeties?

trickydickdillon Going back to last season, the Panthers have played “nickle” (subbing a S for the 3rd LB) over 50% of the time. That was why I suggested signing Bengals FA S/OLB Taylor Mays (6’3 1/4″, 230, 4,42-40, 1.45-10) this past off-season (and maybe again in 2015).

@Big_Eaters_Club BlackBlueReview Norman is starting because they have no one better this year (he’s like the best looking girl at a pig party), they need 2 new starting CB’s for next year.
