Stats and Superlatives: Panthers Vs. Falcons

The Panthers:

  • Have lost five in a row for the first time since Weeks 3-8 in 2012. Their six-game winless streak is their longest since they lost seven straight from Weeks 8-14 in 2010.
  • Have had 19 turnovers in their nine games since going turnover free against the Bucs and Lions. The Panthers had six takeaways in their 2-0 start, but they have just 11 since.
  • Went 152:48 without a takeaway before Thomas Davis forced a fumble late in the third quarter. It was the Panthers first takeaway since they recovered a fumble during the first quarter of their Week 9 loss to the Saints.
  • Had the ball for 11:30 in the first quarter. Their time of possession in the final three quarters was 16:32.
  • Had a drive that spanned 9:05 from the first quarter to the second, their second-longest drive of the season. They only managed a field goal in what was their only trip inside Atlanta’s red zone.
  • Were shutout for the sixth time in the first quarter. They’ve scored just 27 points in the first quarter this season.
  • Have scored 102 points in the fourth quarter and 110 points in the other three quarters combined this season.
  • Rushed for more than 100 yards for the sixth straight game. The last time they didn’t rush for more than 100 yards was in their Week 5 win against the Bears.
  • Gave up two sacks, their fewest since they allowed none in the Week 6 tie against the Bengals.
  • Were called for just one penalty (Roman Harper, unnecessary roughness). It’s the third time in team history they were flagged just once. They weren’t penalized at all during a 31-10 loss to Green Bay on 12/14/97.

Panthers:

  • Head coach Ron Rivera is 28-30-1 in his four seasons with the Panthers.

  • WR Kelvin Benjamin had a career-high nine receptions. He caught seven of his eight targets in the second half. Benjamin’s 52 receptions, 768 yards and eight touchdowns are all Panthers’ rookie records.
