Eight days after he became the first defensive tackle in Carolina Panthers' history to be named NFC Defensive Player of the Week, Kawann Short became the first to earn NFC Defensive Player of the Month.
The league announced the news Thursday, giving the Panthers the honor for a second straight month. Cornerback Josh Norman won the award in September.
It's only the second time in franchise history two Panthers have won Defensive Player of the Month. Linebacker Jon Beason and defensive end Julius Peppers also went back-to-back in October and November of 2008.
Despite having a bye week, Short racked up a season's worth of stats for a defensive tackle in October: five sacks, 19 tackles, three pass bat downs and a forced fumble for the unbeaten Panthers.
Let’s go KK!
Well earned…those states sound kinda Sapp-y.
